A school administrator is typically responsible for creating school newsletter and yearly calendar; maintaining-parent teacher relations using emails, letters, and newswires; keeping record of individual student academic and co-curricular activities; assisting in organizing extra-curricular activities; maintaining parent and teacher contacts database; providing administrative assistance to director or principal of the school; taking care of alumni communications; assisting in promotional activities for the school; and keeping track of files, books, and other stationery.A school administrator should have a high school diploma or an associate's degree. A professional demeanor along with a friendly approach to students' concerns are essential part of the role. Prior experience as a school administrator may be advantageous.
