RPI begins layoffs

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, also known as RPI, has confirmed that layoffs have begun at the school. Jason Gross, a spokesman for the school, declined to say what positions were cut or what job titles were affected.
RPI released a statement that said the cuts were necessary to “protect the academic enterprise” of the school and that severance packages and outplacement services were offered to those affected employees.
