Two-hundred and five ABX Air employees have stepped up and agreed to voluntary severance, reducing the company count in enforcing involuntary layoffs. Management will now look for just 30 individuals to let go. The job cuts came from cargo shipper DHL because the company plans to decrease the number of aircraft used. It plans to phase out the use of 23 ABX Air DC-9 aircraft. ABX will be losing 197 aircraft maintenance employees, 12 administrative workers, and 26 pilots. The workers' last days of employment are set for October 23-24th.
