Summary

A Legal Assistant has a wide range of responsibilities at Waller, including both interpersonal responsibilities and administrative duties in support of its attorneys and paralegals.

Responsibilities

Drafting legal documents and correspondence for attorney review and finalization

Filing case documents in an organized manner for easy access, electronically and/orpaper

Communicating effectively and professionally with clients and attorneys as well as coworkers via email, by phone and in person

Transcribe, edit and proof legal documents

Assist with time entry and billing

Process expense reimbursements and invoices

Assist with preparation for closings

Assist with preparation of closing binders

Answer phones, make calls and coordinate conference calls, greet clients

Make travel arrangements Other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned

Qualifications

Ability to take direction and work independently with little supervision

Highly organized and detail-oriented

Effective and professional interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to write clearly and professionally, with excellent proofing skills

Ability to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines

Strong work ethic with the ability to maintain confidentiality

Strong technology skill utilizing various software programs, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint, and Adobe

Working Conditions:

Works in typical office setting. Occasionally called upon to work hours in excess of your normal daily schedule.
