Profile

Summary
The finance paralegal will support our Finance and Restructuring legal team. The ideal candidate for this position will use their education, work experience and organizational skills to prepare and maintain legal documents, file pleadings, interview clients, and conduct legal research.
Responsibilities
Organize case files to ensure all documents are properly sorted and easy to locate, and other administrative duties as needed
Gather information about legal issues from clients, summarize, and report to attorneys
Prepare bankruptcy petitions, client update letters; proofs of claim, fee applications, pleadings and affidavits, under the supervision of a lawyer
Prepare status reports to share with clients
Communicate with clients and others, including creditors, debtors, trustees and court clerks
Legal research, especially of the Uniform Commercial Code
Analysis of claims, objections and related documentation
Cite checking and Blue-booking legal briefs and memoranda
Reviewing and monitoring docket reports using ECF/PACER
File with bankruptcy, federal and state courts through CM/ECF and other electronic filing systems
Preparation and filing of documents with Secretary of State and Register of Deeds
Occasional overtime work on short notice
Qualifications
Good understanding of the finance process and procedures
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and track extensive details
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with personnel
Candidates should possess high-level organizational skills, and time-management skills
Completion of a nationally-accredited paralegal program strongly preferred
Excellent technology skills, including Microsoft Office Word and Excel, and Adobe
3 years of finance paralegal experience working in a law firm
