SUMMARY
Global Technical Services (GTS), a subsidiary of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is currently seeking a qualified Executive Assistant that will be reporting directly to the CIO of a large government agency in Washington D.C.   The EA provides executive support in a one-on-one working relationship and serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies on all matters pertaining to the Office of the CIO. The EA also serves as a liaison to the project managers and senior management teams; organizes and coordinates executive outreach and external relations efforts; and oversees special projects. The EA must be creative and enjoy working within a fast-moving environment that is mission-driven, results-driven and community oriented. The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. The EA will have the ability to work independently on projects, from conception to completion, and must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Completes a broad variety of administrative tasks for the CIO including: managing an extremely active calendar of appointments; completing expense reports; composing and preparing correspondence that is sometimes confidential; arranging complex and detailed travel plans, itineraries, and agendas; and compiling documents for travel-related meetings.
Plans, coordinates and ensures the CIO schedule is followed and respected. Provides gatekeeper and gateway role, creating win-win situations for direct access to the CIO’s time and office.
Communicates directly, and on behalf of the CIO’S, with Board members, donors, foundation staff, and others, on matters related to CIO’s programmatic initiatives.
Researches, prioritizes, and follows up on incoming issues and concerns addressed to the CIO, including those of a sensitive or confidential nature. Determines appropriate course of action, referral, or response.
Provides a bridge for smooth communication between the CIO and internal departments; demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility, trust and support with senior management staff.
Works closely and effectively with the CIO to keep him well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, following up appropriately. Acts as a barometer, having a sense for the issues taking place in the organization and keeping him updated.
Provides leadership to build relationships crucial to the success of the organization, and manages a variety of special projects for the CIO, some of which may have organizational impact.
Successfully completes critical aspects of deliverables with a hands-on approach, including drafting acknowledgement letters, personal correspondence, and other tasks that facilitate the CIO’S's ability to effectively lead the organization.
Prioritizes conflicting needs; handles matters expeditiously, proactively, and follows-through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures.
QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
Required (Minimum) Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
3-5 years of experience as an Executive Assistant/Administrative Assistant
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Applicant must currently have/be able to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, and Project)
Excellent calendar management skills
Experience scheduling travel arrangements for management
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules composition, and grammar
Excellent oral and written skills
Expert Office skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Outlook

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 
Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Public Trust or the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. (Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Accordingly, U.S. Citizenship is required.)
