The Risk Management Insurance Coordinator will assist in the

management of the University's insurance and self-insurance programs, as well

as provide general risk management support to various internal stakeholders

across the University.

This position is responsible for the annual preparation and

compilation of specific insurance applications and documents for policy

renewals. Review each policy for coverages, limits, exclusions, endorsements,

completeness and assess any changes to determine impact and request

clarification from brokers. Prepare and update policy summaries of all policies

and renewals. Maintain current insurance policy expiration list. Initiation and

review of future insurance initiatives as they develop and provide

recommendations as to changes of existing policies as well as new insurance

purchases. Maintain Insurance and Bonding Guidelines, which is a comprehensive

guide to minimum insurance coverages and limits, insurance-related contract

language and bonding recommendations for procurements at the University of

Tennessee. Maintain Certificate of Insurance database to keep track of incoming

COIs, request changes in the COIs as needed and make sure renewal COIs are

obtained when required. Review and update annual property schedule as required

by the state. This includes adding or deleting locations to the schedule,

updating new and existing building construction data and building and content


Review of leases, contracts, agreements to ascertain if

insurance language and policy limits are acceptable and to ensure the

University's liability is minimized and make recommendations as needed.

Manage Risk Management website including editing, writing

and publishing. Administrative duties including; but not limited to, payroll

reporting, departmental deposits, maintaining office supply purchases, account

reconciliations, travel requests and reimbursement reports, mail processing and

distribution, handle and process all incoming problems/requests/inquiries for

customers. Provide clerical support for Director.

Required competencies:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret insurance policies

and to make independent decisions. Knowledge of insurance language and policy

limits required for contracts and possess proficient computer skills and

knowledge of Word, Excel and Power Point.','!*!Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree 2 years’ insurance and/or risk

management experience. Eight years of risk management/insurance experience in

lieu of degree.



Undergraduate degree or certification in risk management or insurance.

Must have solid background in office technology including

knowledge of computers and software applications such as (but not limited to)

Microsoft Office, Adobe, WordPress, etc. Have the ability to work

independently. Possess excellent communication and multitasking skills, a
