Description

The Administrative Assistant 2 follows established procedures and guidelines to provide timely and effective secretarial support to an office, business unit, department, or other organization. Answers telephones, screens calls, and takes messages so callers/visitors are attended to promptly, courteously, and accurately. The Administrative Assistant 2 performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments. Performs computations. Typically works on semi-routine assignments.

Responsibilities

The Administrative Assistant types, formats, and proofreads a variety of material (e.g., correspondence, invoices, contracts, meeting minutes, reports, speeches, and presentations) using word processing, presentation, graphics and spreadsheet software. Coordinates internal and external meetings which may involve scheduling meeting times, making travel arrangements for attendees, and ensuring that various meeting amenities are available. Manages the appointments and schedules of applicable staff. Uses office equipment such as copiers, faxes, and printers. Additional responsibilities may include distributing incoming mail, preparing outgoing mail, filing, and maintaining office supplies or other inventory. Decisions are typically focus on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments. Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but has some latitude over prioritization/timing, and works under minimal direction. Follows standard policies/practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion.

Supports the Regional VP and Director of Health Services, Associates Directors and the Gulf States Region Clinical team

Engages with internal and external customers and also stakeholders

Required Qualifications

2 years of experience working in an Administrative support role

Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Programs Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Capacity to maintain confidentiality and work independently in support of the department

Ability to multi-task with strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to balance multiple initiatives and prioritize workload

Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Must have accessibility to high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office (satellite internet service is NOT allowed for this role); and a minimum internet connection speed of 10M x 1M

Preferred Qualifications

Associates or Bachelor's Degree

Experience with internet research and proof-reading/editing

Additional Information

Hours for this role are: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm CST

This is a Hybrid Office role working primarily in the Metairie, LA office upon reopening a few days a week with the remainder of the time spent working remotely from home. (This role is currently all remote due to COVID-19)

For this job, associates are required to be fully COVID vaccinated, including booster or undergo weekly COVID testing and wear a face covering while at work. The weekly testing will need to be done through an approved Humana vendor, and unvaccinated associates should follow all social distancing and masking protocols if they are required to come into a Humana facility or work outside of their home.
