OverviewnThe Credentialing Coordinator supports the Professional Staff Office functions, including: credentialing and privileging of reappointments of physicians and affiliated health professionals; attends Credentials Committee meetings and performs administrative functions related to the Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, Departmental Policies and Procedures, and regulatory compliance.n nThe University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) has a unique combination of education, research, and clinical programs that encourages and supports teamwork and diversity.  We champion being a collaborative health care organization, focused on improving patient care and the lives of Arkansans.  n nUAMS offers amazing benefits and perks:nn Health: Medical, Dental and Vision plans available for staff and familyn Holiday, Vacation and Sick Leaven Education discount for staff and dependents (undergraduate only)n Retirement: Up to 10% matched contribution from UAMSn Basic Life Insurance up to $50,000n Career Training and Educational Opportunitiesn Merchant Discountsn Concierge prescription delivery on the main campus when using UAMS pharmacynnSalary offered commensurate with experience.nResponsibilitiesnn Obtains verifications or copies of current license, liability insurance certificates, and DEA certification on a continuous basis utilizing monthly expiration reports from the provider credentialing database for each file.n Ensures all credentialing activities are compliant with Hospital and Departmental Policies, NCQA Standards and Joint Commission Standards.n Obtains primary source verification of all required credentialing components and communicates any inadequacies in a provideru2019s reappointment.n Prepares files, agendas and memos for review.n Completes all required verifications and facilitation of proper review by appropriate party.n Performs comprehensive analysis of credentialing information responsible for resolution of any discrepancies identified.n Enters data into ECHO (credentialing database) and ensures that all information is current, complete and accurate.n Provides reports, quarterly and monthly roster updates the Arkansas State Medical Boardu2019s CCVS.n Runs, prints and reviews scheduled reports and analyzes data; Maintains timely accurate records of the status of all reappointments at all times; Performs audit samples of credentials files.n Greets and assists visitors in the department; Helps cover phones as needed.n Responsible for general office functions, e.g. ordering supplies, delivering, picking-up and distributing correspondence, filing, pulling files for auditors, updating privilege forms.n Reviews reappointment dates and ensures that all providersu2019 reappointments are compliant with the Bylaws, Rules and Regulation, and Departmental Policies and Procedures.n May perform other duties as assigned.nnQualificationsnMinimum Qualifications:nn High School Diploma/GED PLUS three (3) years of experience in physicianu2019s office practice, hospital admissions, medical records, or other health care related fields in lieu of medical staff credentialing experience will be considered OR Bacheloru2019s degree in lieu of HS Diploma plus three (3) years of experience in medical staff credentialing will be considered.n Basic proficiency with computers and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)n Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skillsn Detail oriented with excellent record keeping skillsnn nPreferred Qualifications:nn Bachelors Degree n Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferrednnUAMS is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer of individuals with disabilities and protected veterans and is committed to excellence.nPhysical RequirementsStand: OccasionallySit: FrequentlyWalk: FrequentlyBend, crawl, crouch, kneel, stoop, or reach overhead: OccasionallyLift, push, pull, carry weight: 11 - 25 lbsUse hands to touch, handle, or feel: FrequentlyTalk: FrequentlyHear: FrequentlyTaste or smell: FrequentlyRead, concentrate, think analytically: ContinuouslyPhysical Environment: Inside Office EnvironmentNoise Level: QuietVisual Requirements: Far visual acuity, Near visual acuityHazards: None
