C.N.A/Unit Secretary Monitor Observation Unit:

Shift 06-:00-18:30 Two 12 hour shifts per week.

No weekends

Job Summary: Responsible for processing and coordinationg the flow of updated information and unit activity, including maintaining patient records and answering phones. Meets the communication needs of the patient/family, departmental staff and medical staff. Uses basic computer skills/knowledge and medical terminology to promote unit function. Prepares and compiles records in the specified Department. Acts under the direction of physician and nursing staff. Participates in performance improvement activities. Maintains regulatory agency requirements, hospital policies, procedures and standards. Demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy, and goals of the unit and organization; remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits; and treats staff, physicians, patients and families with consideration and respect. Responsible for registering patients upon admission.

Minimum Requirements:

· Current BLS certification (available after hire).

· C.N.A. certificate (Utah C.N.A. Registry) preferred

· Six (6) months to one year of nursing related work experience preferred.

· Completion of a medical terminology class/course preferred.


· Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently.

· Excellent interpersonal skills.

· Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills required.

· Knowledgeable of medical terminology.
